↖ Step 1: Scavenge Grime-Encrusted Salvage

First thing first, head over to Ner or if you are feeling fancy hit up the auction house for some Grime-Encrusted Salvage. They drop from trash mobs and bosses all around Nan. These things are everywhere so don't miss them by accident. Once you have them, make haste for the Salvage-o-Matic 9000 but don't get attached – it will break soon enough.

 

Materials needed:

• Grime-Encrusted Salvage
• Ounces worth 30 silver each

 

Pro Tip: Use telepad before Electrocutioneer 6000; efficiency matters!

 

↖ Step 2: Repairing the Salvage-o-Matic 9000

Once again inevitable breakdown happens and Ziri the Wrench offers her help for cost. She will give you quest Salvaging the Salvagematic which requires few rare items such as:

• 10 Mithril Bars
• 5 Greater Mystic Essence
• 3 GG12-082 Cartridge Fuses
• 1 Pristine G7 Core Processor

 

The first three items are relatively easy to come by. Mechanical mobs drop the fuses while mithril and essence can be bought off the auction house. Do this quest in a group because fuses are a group loot.

 

Pro Tip: The largest difficulty is Pristine G7 Core Processor. It is really a grind, man.

 

↖ Step 3: Techbot's Corroded G7 Core Processor

Just outside the entrance to Gnomeregan raid, kill Techbot and take his Corroded G7 Core Processor with you. He drops it for everyone in your party. Having shown Ziri this item she will then tell you to look for Whirly Wonder Gear in Booty Bay.

• Corroded G7 Core Processor

 

↖ Step 4: Booty Bay Shenanigans

In Booty Bay, talk with Scooty near the teleporter when he gives us "Quadrangulation" mission. You'll need to attune yourself with four kalimdor beacons:

1. Feralas – Dive at the Isle of Dread
2. Desolace – West coast hill-hopping
3. Dustwallow Marsh - Underwater near sunken ship
4. Tanaris – Westward hill adventure

 

After all four dances return to Scooty and go over their hideout of Whirly Wonder Gear.

 

↖ Step 5: Wle Wonder Gear's Wild Ride

Initially angry at your sudden appearance, Wle agrees that if you bring him the right components he will help you. A lot of players hit a wall here so be prepared mentally.

 

Materials needed:

• Spent Void Core (drop from Naga mobs)
• Mote of Darkness (spawned by killing enough enemies)

 

Combine these into a Charged Void Core and rush back to Wle at Booty Bay base. Unless you want an unplanned vacation off this mountain, do not attack anyone there!

 

↖ Step 6: The Home Stretch

Return to Nan and wrap it up. Remember you must be locked out of Ziri's chamber, hand in all the quests, and there you go. You have unlocked every single recipe that your professional can learn and now can use Salvage-o-Matic 9000 like a pro.
