Welcome to the extensive study of Season of Mastery's Phase 2 class that nearly wiped out WoW Classic. It seeks to determine whether it can be the best in terms of DPS, gold-making and PvP. What does this enigmatic course consist of?
- Class Performance Analysis
- Priest - C Tier
- Shaman - B Tier
- Warlock - A Tier
- Mage - A Tier
- Druid - A Tier
- Paladin - A Tier
- Warrior - A Tier
- Rogue - S Tier
- Hunter - S Tier
↖ Class Performance Analysis
- Tier-Based Ranking: Warcraft Vlogs have ranked classes from C to S tier based on their DPS performance for Phase one.
- Gold Making Potential: For example Mages stood out due to their ability to farm wow classic sod gold during this phase.
↖ Priest - C Tier
- PvE Challenges: Raid healing and pvp were strengths but priests had PVE problems including single target damage and AoE damage.
- Low DPS Impact: Less influence on dps made them less prevalent in raids.
↖ Shaman - B Tier
- Mixed Performance: Though they had a strong tanking spec, Shamans underperformed with their Elemental and Enhancement branches in both PvE and PvP.
- Gold Farming Limitations: They lacked the capabilities for farming gold when compared to other classes.
↖ Warlock - A Tier
- Caster Dominance: Warlocks excelled in caster damage in BFD that was essential for clearing raids effectively.
- Gold Farming and Summons: Highlighted their gold making abilities solo farming skills as well as need for summons – e.g., 1.5 Gold for TB summons.
↖ Mage - A Tier
- AoE and Healing: In what concerns Mages, they showed outstanding AoE damage while also being surprisingly good at healing other players.
- Gold Farming and PvP: They were known for being able to farm gold very well and coordinated pvp teams as well.
↖ Druid - A Tier
- Raids and Buffs: Druids were known for giving important buffs that ferals could compete with other damage meters at raid level.
- PvP and Leveling: Boomkin Druids, especially boasted great power in PvP and leveling.
↖ Paladin - A Tier
High Single Target Damage: Also, paladins were good at single target dps and had the best AoE damage, but they could prove to be tough foes in pvp.
↖ Warrior - A Tier
Unexpected PvE Dominance: However, it was surprising that Warriors did well with PvE given that gold farming wasn't that great; even pvp wise.
↖ Rogue - S Tier
Consistent Performance: They were rated S tier because rogues excelled in both pve and pvp throughout.
↖ Hunter - S Tier
- Top Raid Performer: However, hunters were top raid performers although they might not have been the highest dps in raids.
- PvP Annoyance: This earned them their place as one of the best PVP classes in the game, particularly with upcoming enhancements in Phase 2.
Conclusion
The class that almost broke WoW Classic's balance during Season of Mastery Phase 1. Though every class had their own pros and cons to deal with, Hunter was clearly superior to all other ones as he excelled at all aspects of the game this phase. I am looking forward for phase 2 to see what happens next with different classes.
