New World Season 2 Wave 3: Changes to Sandworm Raid, Hatchery Raid, and OPR

Welcome to this guide covering the changes to the Sandworm raid and Hatchery raid, as well as adjustments to Outpost Rush (OPR) in the latest update of New World, Season 2 Wave 3. These changes aim to enhance gameplay, address balance issues, and provide new challenges for players participating in these activities. This guide will give you an overview of the notable changes and buffs introduced to the Sand Worm raid, Hatchery raid, and OPR. Let's dive in and explore the exciting updates awaiting you in New World.

New World Season 2 Wave 3: Changes to Sandworm Raid, Hatchery Raid, and OPR

Sandworm Changes

  1. The detonation time of the San Juan pellet bombs is reduced from 15 to 12 seconds. It is unclear which mechanic this refers to, but it is likely the airborne pellets that need to be shot.
  2. San Juan vulnerability from thrust weapons is reduced from 0.2 to 0.1. This change increases weapon variety and makes other weapon types more viable in the encounter.
  3. The duration of the acid line left from the Sandworm's acid spew attack is increased from three seconds to six seconds. This change may affect acid resistance wearing it down quicker.

Note: These are the mentioned changes, but there may be additional adjustments not mentioned in the patch notes.

Hatchery Changes Pt1

The Heart Master boss in the Hatchery raid has received some adjustments. The damage of the refunded grunt attacks and the hatchet bomb has been increased by 50. The damage of the second hit from the feral rush has been increased by 65. The boss's total health has also been increased by 50. These changes align the boss's difficulty more closely with the subsequent boss in the raid.

PvP Changes: OPR & Arena

ORP has undergone some PvP changes. The personal points gained for player damage have been reduced from 0.01 to 0.005, while the personal score points for AI kills have been reduced from 10 to 20. However, the personal score for capture point contests has been increased from 0.2 to 0.3. These changes aim to balance the scoring system and provide incentives for both PvP and PvE activities within OPR.

In PvP Arenas, a minor fix has been made to the overtime sulfuring visuals to reflect the actual damage zone better. No mention of the stairs has been made in these patch notes, but it is possible that further adjustments will be made in future patches.

Hatchery Changes Pt2

Further changes have been made to the Hatchery raid, specifically to the Flame Keeper boss. The damage of the meteor shower has been reduced by 10, and the spell now casts at the target position at the time of casting rather than when the spell first spawns. This change allows players to avoid the meteor shower by moving away from the targeted area.

2.1 & 2.2 Changes

In addition to the aforementioned changes, rewards for defeating the Sandworm have been improved. The number of Amble Shots received per kill has increased to 500, and the daily and weekly chests now provide more rewards. Various fixes have also been implemented in the Hatchery raid, addressing issues with flame waves, Sandworm stacking in power and the completion of certain quests.

Conclusion:

These are some of the significant changes to the Sandworm encounter and the Hatchery raid. It is recommended to check for further updates and adjustments before attempting these encounters.
