Runescape Buffed Wrack, Piercing Shot, Slice, and Punish Ability Guides

The recent update to Runescape has significantly buffed Wrack, Piercing Shot, Slice, and Punish in terms of average damage output. As such, it's important to prioritize these abilities when constructing your action bar for optimal damage output. Here's a guide on how to do just that.

Runescape Buffed Wrack, Piercing Shot, Slice, and Punish Ability Guides

Wrack

The Wrack ability has had its damage increased from 56.4% to 90% average ability damage, which is a significant change. It now deals 59 more damage than before on any target, while maintaining the 3-second cooldown. The damage on targets that are stunned or bound has only increased by 3.7% from 112.8 average ability damage to 117 average ability damage. This makes Wrack a more favorable choice in the basic ability order.

Piercing Shot

Piercing Shot has also been buffed. It has had its damage increased from 56.4% to 90% average ability damage. It now shoots two projectiles, dealing two lower hits of damage. The damage on targets that are stunned or bound has only increased by 3.7%, much like Wrack, from 112.8% to 117 average ability damage. This makes Piercing Shot stronger than both regular Ricochet and Binding Shot. This ability is now more useful when fighting bosses with a damage cap ceiling, such as the Zaros or Final Phase, or when using the Soul Split curse.

Slice

Slice has had its damage increased from 75 to 95 average ability damage, with the average ability damage percentage increasing from 113 to 133%. This makes the ability stronger than Smash and Havoc over pretty much any melee action bar.

Punish

Punish has also received a buff. It now deals 75 average ability damage instead of 56, which is nearly a 34 damage buff. However, the ability is still quite weak until the target is below 50% of their total health. As the ability then deals 2.5 times as much damage, so 187.5 average ability damage. The cooldown has been increased from 3 to 24 seconds due to the nature of the ability only having incredible damage output when the target is below 50 life points.

In conclusion, the changes made to these basic abilities have made them more powerful and useful in combat situations. It is important to prioritize these abilities in your basic ability order to maximize your damage output.
