Diablo 4 Cinder Farming Guide: Increase Chances of obtaining targeted unique Items

In the ever-evolving world of Diablo 4, players often encounter new updates and changes to gameplay mechanics. Recently, Blizzard added unique items to HellTide chests, causing quite a stir among the community. While Uber legendaries were briefly introduced and removed from the chests, other uniques remain. This guide aims to explain how to farm these uniques, along with an exploit that allows multiple attempts at opening the chests.

Diablo 4 Cinder Farming Guide: Increase Chances of obtaining targeted unique Items

Understanding Uniques and World Tiers

Before diving into the farming method, it's essential to understand how unique items work in Diablo 4. Uniques are not tied to character levels but rather to the world tier you are playing in. This means that certain uniques can drop on World Tier 3 and 4, while others are exclusive to World Tier 4. However, regardless of your character's level, you can still obtain uniques. The only exception is the Uber legendaries, which require your character to be level 85.

Exploiting the Cinder Balance

To maximize your chances of obtaining these uniques, an exploit involving Cinder, the in-game currency, can be utilized. Following this method, you can farm Cinder on your main character and transfer it to your alternate characters, granting them extra attempts at opening the HellTide chests. While it is possible to perform this exploit solo, doing it in a group is recommended to minimize the risk of losing Cinder upon death.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • Farming Cinder: Start by farming Cinder on your main character. The most efficient way to do this is by targeting specific uniques. For example, if you seek the Shaco unique, use a sorceress character. If you're after the Tempest raw or other armor, weapon, or accessory uniques, a druid character is recommended.
  • Creating an Account Wide Cinder Balance: Once you have accumulated the desired amount of Cinder (e.g., 150 Cinder for two chest openings), it's time to transfer it to your alternate characters. To do this, position all the characters you want to open the chests with at the edge of the HellTide area. Make sure the Cinder icon and remaining time are visible in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Logging In and Out: Log in with your main character, and then immediately log out. This action tricks the game into believing you are still logged in and places your Cinder in a temporary state. Although you may see a disconnect message, this is irrelevant. When you log back into any character, not in the HellTide area, the Cinder will be permanently lost. Therefore, make sure to log in with one of the characters waiting in the HellTide area.
  • Opening the Chests: If you are solo, proceed to open the chest, but exercise caution as the risk of death is higher. For safer attempts, join a party with a friend who can protect you. Teleport to town and have your friend wait at the chest. Then, teleport directly onto your friend, and together, open the chest.
  • Expanding the Exploit: If you have multiple characters, repeat the process of farming Cinder on your main character, log in, log out, and log in again, but this time with your second character. Join the party, teleport to town, teleport to the chest, and open it. You only need to perform the login and out step once with your main character to activate the exploit. Continue this pattern for subsequent characters.

Conclusion:

By utilizing the Cinder exploit and following this farming method, you can significantly increase your chances of obtaining targeted unique D4 items from HellTide chests in Diablo 4. Whether you choose to farm solo or with a group, always exercise caution to prevent loss of Cinder. Remember, this method can be used to farm various armor, weapon, or accessory uniques, allowing you to build a formidable character.
