Welcome to this guide to Patch 10.1.5, the latest update in the ever-evolving world of WoW. We were surprised by the massive Nerfs and some interesting changes made to the game just before the patch was released. In this guide, we will delve into the class changes, discuss the significant nerfs to the mega-dungeon bosses, explore the potential rogue rework, highlight the alterations to raid loot and uncover the new features introduced in this patch.

WOW Patch 10.1.5: Massive Nerfs, Class Changes, Raid Loot Changes and New Features

Class Changes

The class changes in Patch 10.1.5 are relatively limited compared to what we expected. Mages received a few tweaks, with buffs to Frozen Touch, Snowstorm, and Splitting Ice. Holy Paladins also saw some quick buffs to Veneration and changes to Greater Judgment. While the number of hotfixes is fewer than usual, it's a positive sign that the developers are satisfied with the balance earlier in the PTR cycle. However, we might still see some hotfixes after the patch goes live.

Huge Nerfs to Megadungeon Bosses

The mega-dungeon, Dawn of the Infinite is a crucial part of Patch 10.1.5. With gear drops reaching item level 437 and various special effects, the rewards are substantial. However, the difficulty of the bosses was a concern. To address this, several bosses received massive nerfs just before the patch release. For instance, the first boss, Chronicar saw a 25% reduction in health, a 50% reduction in Chrono Shear damage, and a 70% reduction in absorbed healing. Similar nerfs were applied to other bosses as well, making the encounters significantly easier. While some adjustments may still be needed, these changes should make the mega-dungeon more accessible to players.

Rogue Rework

Contrary to expectations, Patch 10.1.5 did not include a rework for Rogues. However, this doesn't mean they have been forgotten. The developers prioritized delivering consistent content and decided not to delay the entire patch for a single feature. We can expect a rogue rework in a future update, possibly in Patch 10.1.7 or even Patch 10.2. Stay tuned for more information regarding the rogue rework.

Changes to Raid Loot

Patch 10.1.5 introduces a change to raid loot, specifically regarding tier tokens. In the past, tier token drop rates would decrease as the raid tier progressed, causing them to become less desirable. To address this, tier tokens will drop less frequently in Patch 10.1.5. Instead, actual boss loot will drop more often, increasing the chances of obtaining class trinkets and other rare items. This change benefits raiders by allowing them to focus on acquiring specific gear while still benefiting from the Catalyst system.

No Traders Tender in Cash Shop

Contrary to speculation, Traders Tender will not be sold individually in the in-game cash shop. While datamined icons indicated the possibility, the developers have clarified that Traders Tender will not be available for direct purchase. Instead, the icons may be used in bundles or deluxe editions, offering choices in rewards such as mounts or pets. The community's strong opposition to having Traders Tender in the cash shop has been heard, ensuring it remains an in-game reward.

New Patch Features

Patch 10.1.5 brings some unannounced features, including changes to view distance and fog in Kalimdor and potentially other older zones. This alteration will significantly impact how the old world looks, especially during dragon riding. While specific details on dragon riding in Kalimdor are yet to be revealed, the improved view distance and fog changes will enhance the experience when it becomes available.

Patch 10.1.7 Coming Soon

Despite Patch 10.1.5 not being live, Patch 10.1.7 is already planned for deployment on the PTR Realms. While there is limited information available, it promises new stories and quests, a holiday refresh, and content and systems updates. The release date is set for sometime in Fall. With encrypted builds already deployed, we can expect updates on Patch 10.1.7 soon.

Conclusion:

Patch 10.1.5 brings significant nerfs, class changes, and adjustments to the mega-dungeon bosses. While the rogue rework is delayed, it remains on the developer's agenda for a future update. Changes to raid loot will provide more opportunities for obtaining desired gear, and the community's demand against Traders Tender in the cash shop has been acknowledged. Additionally, new features, such as improved view distance and fog changes, offer an exciting visual experience. As Patch 10.1.7 looms on the horizon, anticipation grows for more updates and content.
