↖ What is the Wrathful Heart?
In Diablo 4 (D4), Wrathful Heart belongs to Malignant Hearts, which can be socketed on Rings and Necklaces with Infested Sockets.
Heart Name | Class | Effect |
---|---|---|
Creeping Death | General | Damage over time effects increased by 30-40% for each different Crowd Control effect on the target. Unstoppable monsters and Staggered bosses take 110-130% increased damage from your damage over time effects. |
Ignoring Pain | Barbarian | Incoming damage has a 5-15% chance of being ignored and instead heals you for 17-68. |
Omnipower | Sorcerer | Core Skills that launch a projectile consume all of your Mana. For every 45-35 extra Mana consumed, you launch an additional projectile, and the damage is increased by 3.0-5.0%. |
The Barber | General | Critical Strikes and all subsequent damage within 2.0-4.0 seconds is absorbed by your target. The absorbed damage erupts onto surrounding enemies. Stored damage is increased by 10% per second. |
The Great Feast | Necromancer | Each Minion drains 1.0-2.0 Essence per second but deals 50-75% increased damage. With no Minions, this bonus applies to you and drains 5 Essence per second. |
The Malignant Pact | General | Cycle through a Malignant bonus every 20 kills: Vicious: Gain 20% Attack Speed.; Devious: Core and Basic Skills have a 15% chance to fully restore your Primary Resource.; Brutal: Every 21 seconds, gain a Barrier absorbing 85-102 damage. |
The Unconstrained Beast | Druid | When you are hit with a Stun, Freeze, or Knock Down effect, there is a 40-60% chance to automatically activate Grizzly Rage for 3 seconds. |
The Vile Apothecary | Rogue | Your attacks have a 5-15% chance to apply all Imbuement effects at 40-50% of normal potency. |
↖ How to Unlock Wrathful Hearts?
To unlock Wrathful Hearts, you'll need to progress through the game and complete certain milestones. Normally, obtaining these hearts would require reaching at least chapter 3, which often requires a character to be at level 45 or higher. However, there is a method to acquire them much earlier than that.
By exploring specific malignant tunnels, such as the Ravening Pit in the dry steps southwest of Kyovo, you can have a chance to encounter Wrathful enemies. The tunnel may also grant you bonuses like increased attack speed, resource restoration, or a damage-absorbing barrier, making it a beneficial endeavour even beyond acquiring the Wrathful Hearts.
While inside the malignant tunnel, focus on locating and defeating the Elite enemies. To optimize the process, refrain from engaging other mobs or looting items. Quickly explore the tunnel, and if you don't find any Wrathful enemies, leave the dungeon and reset it using the available in-game options. This method allows you to repeatedly attempt to spawn Wrathful enemies and farm the coveted Wrathful Hearts more efficiently.
↖ Getting Started
To embark on this efficient farming journey, you must complete at least Chapter 3 of the seasonal journey, which typically requires you to be level 45 or higher. However, we can obtain Wrathful Hearts much earlier, even before reaching that level.
↖ The Ravening Pit
In Diablo 4, Wrathful Hearts are valuable items, especially the sought-after Barber gem. This guide will show you a fast and efficient farming strategy to obtain Wrathful Hearts with the Season One mechanic.
Requirements:
- Character in World Tier 4
- No special keys or materials needed
Location: Ravening Pit
The farm spot is located in the Ravening Pit, a Malignant Tunnel close to Champions Demise in the Dry Steps area. There are always three Wrathful Elite spawns on this map, with a chance of one additional spawn.
Strategy:
- Enter the Ravening Pit and check the affixes on the elite enemies. Look for the Wrathful Elite spawns. These elites will have the "skull" icon as their affix.
- Quickly eliminate the three Wrathful Elites in the map.
- Optionally, you can also check and defeat additional elites for more chances at Wrathful Hearts.
- Once you have cleared the area, either leave the dungeon and quickly join a friend to reset it, or press "M," then "Q," and choose "Reset Dungeon" to reset it solo.
- Repeat the process to farm more Wrathful Hearts.
Tips for Efficiency:
- Use a mobile-oriented build for faster clearing, such as the Rogue.
- Focus solely on checking the affixes and killing the targeted elites, skipping other mobs.
- If you're in a party, the farming becomes even more efficient, but solo farming is also viable.
Rewards:
- Wrathful Hearts: These are dropped by Wrathful Elite enemies. They are essential for obtaining the sought-after Barber gem and other valuable items.
- Additional loot: You may find other items, gain XP, or farm Diablo 4 Gold during the process.
↖ Additional Information
Malignant Hearts come in different levels, just like items. At World Tier 1 and 2, you'll find a smaller pool of Malignant Hearts, including Wrathful ones.
As you progress to World Tier 3 and 4, you'll have access to a more excellent pool, increasing your chances of finding higher-tier Malignant Hearts.
Remember that the item power of the heart itself can influence the power of a Wrathful Heart's effect.
Higher item power generally means more potent effects, especially for damage-dealing effects.
If you end up with low-quality Malignant Hearts that you won't use, you can dismantle them at the workbench in Kyovo to obtain crafting materials.
Conclusion:
By utilizing this efficient farming method, you can obtain Wrathful Hearts early in Diablo 4 season 1, even before unlocking the ability to invoke or craft them. Make sure to take advantage of this strategy to power up your character and conquer the challenges that lie ahead in the season.
