7 Hottest & Most Powerful Solo Class in SWTOR, 2023

Welcome to my SWTOR gameplay guide discussing the best solo class to play in Star Wars: The Old Republic in 2023. While it's true that every class can solo, there are certain classes that excel at solo play more than others. In this guide, we'll showcase the 7 best solo classes that are the hottest and most powerful right now. Whether you're a new player or returning to the game after a long time, this guide will help you choose the right class for your solo adventures.

7 Hottest & Most Powerful Solo Class in SWTOR, 2023

Overview

This guide will help you choose the best class for your solo adventures in 2023. It's important to note that determining the best solo class is subjective and based on personal opinion. All classes have the capability to complete the game's storyline due to SWTOR's shift from an MMO to a single-player RPG with multiplayer components.

The companion system and the ability to customize your companion's role as a tank, healer, or DPS allows any class to solo effectively. However, some classes are better suited for solo play, while others shine in group settings or when playing with friends or guildmates. This choice, however, doesn't dictate gameplay, which is our main focus today.

Jedi Knight: Guardian Build

Jedi Knight, specifically the Guardian build, offers a classic Jedi experience. If you enjoy a more defensive playstyle with the ability to soak up damage, the Jedi Knight is the class for you. Equipped with heavy armour, the Guardian excels at survivability. While its DPS may not match that of classes like the Mercenary or Gunslinger, the Guardian can still deal respectable damage if specced into Vigilance or Focus.

There are different specializations available for the Jedi Knight, including the Sentinel (two-handed DPS), Sage (DPS or healer), and Shadow (tank or DPS). However, the Jedi Knight is the embodiment of the light side of the Jedi Order and offers a true Jedi experience. Expect to jump into the heat of combat, wielding your lightsaber with finesse and valour. If you aspire to be a Jedi reminiscent of Qui-Gon Jinn or Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi Knight, and specifically the Jedi Guardian, is the ideal choice for you.

Bounty Hunter: Mercenary Build

On the Sith side, the Bounty Hunter class provides an exciting solo experience. When it comes to the classic bounty hunter feel, the Mercenary build is the way to go. This build offers a perfect blend of heavy armour and high DPS. With flamethrowers, incendiary bombs, and other explosive abilities at your disposal, the Mercenary build allows you to blow stuff up with style.

While the Bodyguard specialization focuses on healing and ranged combat, the Innovative Ordinance build provides sustained damage over time and ranged attacks, including the use of flamethrowers and missiles. The bounty hunter offers a captivating storyline throughout the base game and introduces compelling companion characters.

Mercenary build excels at ranged DPS while providing decent survivability thanks to heavy armour. It offers the flexibility to engage enemies from a distance or jump into the middle of combat when necessary. If you enjoy a versatile class that combines ranged damage with the ability to withstand hits, the bounty hunter, specifically the Mercenary build, is an excellent choice for solo play.

Imperial Agent: Operative Build

For a unique gameplay experience, the Imperial Agent, particularly the Operative build, is worth considering. The Operative build provides a blend of ranged and melee combat, along with stealth capabilities. You can choose to focus on ranged stealth or melee stealth, depending on your preferred playstyle.

The Operative build utilizes a blaster rifle for ranged attacks but also incorporates backstabbing and the use of vibro blades for melee encounters. It requires a more hands-on approach, with constant movement around the battlefield. Stealth plays a crucial role, allowing you to enter and exit combat swiftly. Although the Operative build cannot withstand heavy hits like the Sith Warrior or Jedi Knight, its mobility compensates for it.

The Imperial Agent storyline is regarded as one of the best, offering a thrilling James Bond-like experience set in the Star Wars universe. The Operative build provides a mix of healing and DPS, and you can have your companion specialize in tanking to enhance survivability further.

Jedi Knight: Sentinel Build

If you enjoy the thrill of wielding two lightsabers and engaging enemies up close, then the Jedi Knight Sentinel build is perfect for you. As a Sentinel, you can unleash devastating AoE attacks and cut through enemies with ease. While you can wear heavy armour, your survivability won't match that of a Guardian. However, the Sentinel's focus is on being a DPS class, dealing massive damage.

You can quickly eliminate mobs and hold your ground against multiple enemies. Paired with a healing companion, you'll have no trouble surviving. If you love the idea of dual lightsabers and want to witness enemies being sliced and diced, the Jedi Knight Sentinel is an excellent choice.

Sith Inquisitor: Sorcerer Build

For those drawn to the dark side, the Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer build is a top contender. Specifically, the Lightning stance offers an electrifying experience. As a Sorcerer, your gameplay revolves around force lightning and magical force damage. While you'll still wield a lightsaber, your abilities mainly focus on frying enemies with intense bursts of electricity.

The Sith Inquisitor storyline can be dark, but you can choose to align with the light side if desired. This class may lack survivability, but the immense damage and AoE potential make it a thrilling choice. If you enjoy unleashing the power of the Force and obliterating enemies with crackling lightning, the Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer is the class for you.

Sith Warrior: Juggernaut Build

Mirroring the Jedi Knight on the Sith side, the Sith Warrior offers the Juggernaut build, which excels at damage-focused gameplay. While the Juggernaut was originally designed as a tank build, its reliance on rage and damage output makes it feel like an unstoppable force. As a Juggernaut, you'll revel in jumping into the midst of combat and decimating your foes with your lightsaber.

This class allows you to call upon the dark side to wreak havoc while enjoying the satisfaction of being on the front lines. While it may not be as DPS intensive as the Sith Inquisitor, the Sith Warrior Juggernaut provides a distinctly dark side experience combined with frontline dominance.

Smuggler: Gunslinger Build

Finally, we have the Smuggler class, specifically the Gunslinger build. As a Gunslinger, you won't focus on tanking; instead, you'll excel as a pure ranged DPS character. Your survival will depend on staying out of harm's way, utilizing cover, and letting others draw enemy aggro. The Gunslinger is all about long-range combat, dealing massive damage with blasters and even using thermal detonators.

SWTOR Smuggler Gunslinger Build

This class is a ton of fun, especially if you enjoy playing as a ranged DPS character. While you have some close-up abilities for situational use, most of your gameplay revolves around maintaining distance and unleashing devastating attacks. If you relish the ranger archetype in games and love the versatility of ranged DPS, the Smuggler Gunslinger is the best solo class for you.

Notes: Building a powerful single-player career not only requires you to have a detailed construction idea but also needs to have enough swtor credits support, so preparing sufficient credits is the previous preparation!

Conclusion:

When considering the best solo class in Star Wars: The Old Republic in 2023, it's important to note that every class can solo effectively due to the game's shift towards a single-player RPG with multiplayer components. Whether you seek a defensive Jedi experience, a thrilling dark side adventure, or a versatile ranged DPS character, there's a class that will suit your solo adventures in the vast universe of SWTOR.
