Diablo 4 Personal Loot System Discuss

Diablo 4 Personal Loot System generates loot separately for each player, with a rarity system ranging from normal and magical items to legendary and unique items. One of the biggest changes in Diablo 4 is that players can strip legendary items of their legendary aspect and put it on any rare item, creating a best-in-slot item. This has resulted in controversy, with some in favor of it believing it allows for more build diversity, while those against it think it is too difficult for casual players and that it relies too heavily on RNG.

Understand the Item Rarity System

In Diablo 4, there is a loot rarity system ranging from normal and magical items, going all the way up to legendary and unique items. Legendary items contain five affix slots or stat bonuses, with one of those slots automatically taken up by the legendary effect. On rare items, you can have a total of five rolls on top of having a legendary effect.

Strip Legendary Items at the Oculus

When you acquire a legendary item, you can strip it completely of its legendary aspect or legendary effect at what is called the Oculus. This will destroy the legendary entirely and will allow you to place it on any other, legendary, or rare item of your choosing, turning that rare into a legendary.

Look for Rare Items

This means that rare items are going to be some of the most sought-after items in the game and are sure to be part of your best-in-slot items to chase. Don't forget that you can also trade rare items as well, which makes this a massive game changer.

Consider Crafting Systems

Consider the possibility of Blizzard implementing a crafting system with its own endgame currency. This will allow you to re-roll an affix or two on a specific rare item. This could be done with Diablo 4 gold or with a potion, but be wary of potential pay-to-win scenarios.

Consider the Pros and Cons

Think about both sides of the argument. Those who are for the system believe it allows for hardcore players to min-max a lot further, as well as more build diversity. However, those who are against it think it’s more difficult for casual players and there is too much reliance on RNG.
