Runescape Animate Dead is an Ancient Magicks spell that provides the caster with damage reduction when wearing magic tank armour. First, let's cover Anime Dad. Currently, Anime Dad is incredibly effective at reducing damage and has very little downside. To balance this, Jagex has proposed a conservative change to Anime Dad. This change would reduce the maximum damage reduction from 75% to 60%, and the damage reduction will be based on 25% of your defense level instead of 33%. Additionally, the 10% bonus damage reduction will remain unchanged. 

 

To give an example, if a player is taking a 1000 damage hit, currently, they would take 185 damage with Anime Dad and a protection prayer. After the update, the player would take 255 damage instead. This is a 38% increase in the damage taken. It is important to note that the smaller the hit is, the less broken Anime Dad will be. This means that Slayer and AFK methods may suffer while bossing will be affected less. 

 

Next, let's cover the Fs away Nerf. Jagex has proposed changes to the Fs away to make future magic upgrades interesting. The main change is that the Fs away will no longer fire off auto attacks during its special attack and instead fire off regular ability hits. These hits will deal between 60 and 120 ability damage, on average 90%. The damage can be increased with boosts, just like any other ability. 

 

It appears that the Fs away will suffer damage nerf, as auto attacks seem to be dealing more damage than the regular ability hits. The exact nerf will need to be tested and confirmed by spreadsheet warriors. 

 

Finally, it is important to note that both changes are still subject to change. Jagex is actively looking for feedback on these changes and encourages players to give feedback on the Reddit post or link in the description. Additionally, Jagex is planning to communicate better and gather more player feedback for future updates and balancing changes. This includes the possibility of in-game polls coming back to the game.
