Runescape New Slayer Creatures and Abilities Guides
Are you ready to learn about the new Slayer content that has just been released? This guide will take you through the latest update and help you unlock the new character, sonic wave ability. So, let's dive in!
Unwelcome Guests Quest
To begin with, you need to complete the Unwelcome Guests quest, which starts by speaking to Overseer Save in your Command Center. Completing this quest will give you access to a new fort building called the Guard House, which you need to build as part of the quest. The quest takes about 20 minutes and involves four main objectives: slapping some enemies, creating the Guard House, and unlocking Tier 2 and Tier 3 versions of the building. The Tier 3 version has a 3% chance to execute non-Slayer targets and a 10 damage increase against slow targets below 25 life points, making it a valuable asset for high-health Slayer mobs.
New Slayer Creatures
Once you have completed the quest, you will unlock the new Raptor Slay Master, which offers a range of Slayer tasks, including low-level tasks such as Fire Giants and Green Dragons, and high-level tasks such as Armored Phantoms and Ripper Demons. There are two new low-level Slayer creatures: Fated Zombies and Bound Skeletons. Both require level 1 Slayer and can be found north of the fort, but the Bound Skeleton requires level 50 Slayer to get as a Slayer-specific task from the Raptor NPC. These creatures are the first source of Elemental Animus Stones in the game.
Resin Ghosts require level 85 Slayer to kill and can be found in the Wellness Crypt north of your fortress. They have their own Slayer task, but can also be done as part of cluster tasks such as Ghosts. These creatures are poisonable and can be easily AoE'd using magic, despite being weak to ranged attacks. They deal magic damage and have a special attack that allows them to heal over their own damage, but this is not really a mechanic worth worrying about. In my experience, you can kill around 660 of these ghosts per hour, making it a relevant Slayer task at 660,000 Slayer experience per hour.
Armored Phantoms require level 113 Slayer to kill and are a very tough Slayer creature to take down. They mainly attack using melee but also possess a special Blood Quake attack that can deal around 5,000 magic damage. When attacking these creatures, they will eventually spawn a Phantom Spirit, which will continuously heal the Phantom until you stun it to remove the spirit from existence. Greater chain-based stuns do not work, so you need to physically target the spirit to take it out. You are best off killing these one by one, unless you have very good gear, as these creatures have high defense and even reduce your ability to heal as your food becomes less effective when fighting them.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the new Slayer content offers a range of exciting new creatures and abilities that you can unlock by completing the Unwelcome Guests quest. From Fated Zombies and Bound Skeletons to Resin Ghosts and Armored Phantoms, there is something for everyone to slay. So grab your gear with RS GP and head out into the world of Runescape, where adventure awaits!
