Warriors of Azeroth, it's time to wield your strongest armor and your most fearsome weapons. It's time to apply your best enchantments and your most powerful buff consumables. We have the safe and automated Cubase dungeon finder system on our side. This system provides overpowered rewards and makes open-world leveling obsolete. Why? In Phase 4, we'll be getting the brand new Random Dungeon Finder (RDF) system, automated cross-realm cues for dungeons, huge bonus rewards just for showing up. Let's talk about everything new with the RDF system and how to take advantage of it to level up fast.
- RDF System Overview
- Bonus Rewards and Satchel of Helpful Goods
- Leveling Faster with RDF
- Raid Readiness with RDF
↖ RDF System Overview
The RDF, or Random Dungeon Finder, is the automated dungeon-finding interface introduced in Phase 4 of Wrath of the Lich King. Here's how it works:
- Role Selection: First, you select your role, whether it's tank, healer, DPS, or even multiple roles if you're flexible.
- Queue Options: Next, you can queue up for either a random dungeon or a specific dungeon. To queue for a specific dungeon, use the drop-down menu and check the boxes for the dungeons you want to find a group for.
- Automatic Matching: The key difference with RDF is that it will automatically match players and roles, even across realms. This means you no longer need to invite players or interact with them manually – queue up and wait.
- Instant Teleportation: When your group is filled, you are automatically teleported to the dungeon, saving you the trouble of travelling there.
↖ Bonus Rewards and Satchel of Helpful Goods
One of the biggest advantages of the RDF system is the bonus rewards it offers:
- Random Dungeon Option: By selecting the random dungeon option, you'll receive significant bonus rewards. At level 80, you'll get two Emblems of Triumph and bonus gold. Below level 80, you'll receive scaling experience and gold. Below level 70, you'll also receive a Satchel of Helpful Goods.
- Satchel of Helpful Goods: This satchel contains a random bind-on-pickup armor piece. The type of armor you receive is based on your class. For instance, Rogues will get leather items. This makes queuing randomly with RDF an excellent way to gear up, as you'll receive both dungeon rewards and bonus satchel items.
↖ Leveling Faster with RDF
RDF can be a game-changer for leveling. Dungeon leveling at low levels was often slow and required forming groups, which could be challenging. Now, you can queue up for random dungeons and receive scaling bonus XP from every run. Keep in mind:
- Level Range: You can only queue for dungeons within your level range. For example, a level 22 Troll Mage can queue for Blackfathom Deeps, but a level 12 Alliance Druid can't queue for any dungeons.
- Questing: While RDF can provide excellent XP, there are situations where questing is still preferable, especially if the available dungeons are not optimal for your level.
- Heirlooms: Equip chest and shoulder heirlooms for a 10% bonus experience boost, along with other XP-boosting items.
- Queue Times: Healers and tanks generally have faster queue times than DPS roles. Use this time for questing or resting XP.
↖ Raid Readiness with RDF
Once you reach level 80 through RDF spamming and questing, you can use RDF to gear up for raids quickly. You can queue for the new Titan Rune modes, including Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, which offer varying item levels of gear:
Alpha | 200-213 item level gear. |
Beta | 225 item level gear. |
Gamma | 232 item level gear. |
There's also the new Defiler Scourge Stone currency that drops from Gamma bosses, which can be used to purchase powerful items.
Gear Score Requirements:
- Normal Heroics: Average item level of 180 (approximately 3,000 gear score).
- Alpha Mode: 187 item level.
- Beta Mode: 200 item level.
Consider skipping normal heroics if you can acquire gear from the auction house to meet the requirements for Alpha mode. Blizzard has made Alpha mode easier in this patch, making it a smoother transition from leveling dungeons.
Frozen Halls Dungeons: To queue up for the new Frozen Halls dungeons, you'll need an average item level of at least 200 (around 3,700 gear score), so be prepared to gather gear to meet this requirement.
With all the XP and Wotlk gold you'll earn from RDF, you'll want to know the 10 most expensive items in Phase 4 for additional guidance on how to maximize your gains.
Conclusion:
In total, the RDF system in Phase 4 of Wrath of the Lich King brings significant changes to the dungeon experience, making leveling and gearing up more efficient than ever before. Embrace this system, optimize your gameplay, and prepare to conquer the challenges that lie ahead in Northrend!
