Sapphire is a precious gem that can be made through the use of Chipped Sapphire and can only be used on socketed equipment. Depending on the type of equipment you use, Sapphire provides different bonuses that can enhance your character's abilities. It is important to note that the Jeweler allows players to remove sockets from armor without damaging it, thus making it possible to apply them to other gear combinations. In addition, The Blacksmith has the ability to upgrade extra stats and bonus resistance on rings and amulets as well as weapons and armors.

Sapphire's Effects

The benefits provided by sapphire depends on where it was inserted in the piece of gear, as follows:

Weapons: [9-1%] Critical Strike Damage against Crowd Controlled Enemies.

Inserting a sapphire into a weapon will yield increased damage for critical strikes only when used against crowd controlled enemies; this may be useful for characters who use crowd control skills as a basis of gaining an upper hand in battles.

Armor: Fortified reduces [6-1%] damage.

In case one inserts a sapphire in his or her armor, he or she enjoys reduced damage while fortified. Diablo 4 has fortification as its defense mechanism which temporarily boosts defenses that makes this bonus valuable when trying to stay alive during fierce combats.

Jewelry: Cold Resistance [16.9-1%].

When equipped with jewelry having sapphires slotted into them, they enjoy higher resistance against cold. With this bonus one can lessen the impact of cold-based enemies or environmental hazards' attacks thereby reducing any complications associated with such actions.

A higher rank of Sapphire increases its effectiveness when socked into any item. To upgrade your Sapphire, have three Chipped Sapphires and 12,500 Gold. This upgrade process begins at the jeweler's workstation.
