Exciting New Content in Diablo 4 You Should Know About
Diablo 4 is the upcoming fourth installment of the highly acclaimed Diablo series, and it is set to launch this June. With the launch, there are many new and exciting features coming to the game that is sure to make it a hit. Here, LOLTANK will go over nine of the new features and unexpected lack of features coming to Diablo 4 that you should be aware of.
- No item sets at launch
- Every item takes up the same amount of space
- No Paladin or Crusader class
- Feature an open world
- World bosses that randomly spawn
- Paragon system unlocked at level 50
- Skill point and skill tree system
- Renown system
- Codex of Power
No item sets at launch
There will be no item sets at launch. This is a huge surprise to many, as item sets are a major factor in character building and feeling a sense of completion and accomplishment. While they won't be in the game at launch, they will be added in the future. Joe Shealy, the game director, said that they omitted set items at launch because they want to get them right.
Every item takes up the same amount of space
Every Diablo 4 item takes up the same amount of space in the inventory, even rings and amulets. This is a change from Diablo 2 and 3, as most items in Diablo 3 took up two inventory spots, except for rings, gems, and amulets. This eliminates the need for a player to play Tetris with their inventory, as all items will fit perfectly without any intervention.
No Paladin or Crusader class
There is no Paladin or Crusader class in the game. This may not come as a surprise to Diablo 3 players, as there was no Paladin or Crusader class in Diablo 3 until the Reaper of Souls expansion two years after launch. There has been no confirmation that a Paladin class will be added, but many are speculating that a holy warrior will be added at a later point.
Feature an open world
The game will feature an open world, with players being able to encounter other players and progress through the storyline in a non-linear way. In previous Diablo games, the plot was linear and structured in terms of acts. Diablo 4 takes it a step further with not only non-linear progression but also encountering other players in the open world.
World bosses that randomly spawn
There will be world bosses that randomly spawn in the open world and require many players to come together to defeat them. Upon launch, there will be three world bosses: Ashava the Pestilent, a Treasure Beast, and an unannounced third. They will drop legendary loot, such as the legendary amulet Essadora's Overflowing Cameo.
Paragon system unlocked at level 50
There will be a Paragon system unlocked at level 50. This system is meant to provide players with a huge amount of end-game customization and encourage replayability. Every 25 percent of a level after level 50 will unlock one Paragon point, making four Paragon points per level starting at level 50. Each tile on the Paragon board has a different rarity, granting different bonuses depending on rarity.
Skill point and skill tree system
There will be a skill point and skill tree system. This system is much more robust than in the previous games, allowing you to upgrade skills rather than put more points into them like in Diablo 2. Choices are somewhat more limited, but you can eventually unlock companion summoning spells.
Renown system
There will be a Renown system. Each zone in the game has five renowned tiers, with each tier rewarding players with gold, experience, and skill points. Paragon and skill points earned through the Renown system are applied to all future characters, making the starting experience for alt characters much more enjoyable.
Codex of Power
The Codex of Power is a major change to the game, allowing players to use legendary aspects and powers to improve their gear and customize their build. To obtain a legendary aspect, players need to delve into specific dungeons. Once obtained, the aspect can be imprinted onto a specific item slot, similar to Kanai's Cube, but with the bonus listed on the gear itself instead of a cube in town.
These are nine of the new and unexpected features coming to Diablo 4. Be sure to keep an eye out for the launch of the game this June, as it is sure to be a hit.
