Welcome to this guide on the best DPS classes for general play in the Star Wars: The Old Republic PvP 7.2. In this article, LOLTANK will be ranking the best DPS classes based on their damage, survivability, and utility. We will be rating each spec on a scale of 0-10 for damage, 8 for survivability, and 5 for utility. This guide will provide you with an overview of each spec's strengths and weaknesses so that you can make an informed decision about which class is best for you.

Which are the Best DPS Classes in the SWTOR PvP 7.2?

Concealment Operative - Tier D (10 Ponits)

Starting off with the lowest-rated class, Concealment Operative is the worst spec for DPS in the current patch. Concealment Operative has a damage score of 4 out of 10, mostly due to its lack of AoE damage and struggles with roots. For survivability, it has a score of 5 out of 8, as it does have the God Roll and Vanish which is useful, but not more than that. On the utility side, Concealment is also the worst class in the game. It does have a Hearts-done, but not much else, and the Hots has been weaker than Lethality. Concealment also doesn't have a taunt, so it gets only 1 point for utility, which puts it in D Tier with a total of 10 points.

Arsenal Mercenary - Tier D (12 Points)

Next up is Arsenal Mercenary with a total of 12 points. Arsenal has a score of 3 out of 10 for damage and 5 out of 8 for survivability. On the utility side, Arsenal is one of the better specs in the game, with the possibility to root, a knockback, and ElectroNet which is a great CC. It does have Off-fields, but they are not that great. Arsenal also has a very annoying 70% passive rotational slow on Blazing Bolts, which can be very strong for melee classes.

Innovative Ordnance Mercenary - Tier D (12 Points)

Innovative Ordnance Mercenary is also rated at 12 points, but slightly lower than Arsenal. Io Merc has a score of 4 out of 10 for damage and 5 out of 8 for survivability. On the utility side, Io does not have the same 70% slow that Arsenal has, so it is rated slightly lower.

Marksmanship Sniper - Tier C (12 Points)

Marksmanship Sniper is in the third class with 12 points in the list. Marksmanship has a score of 4 out of 10 for damage and 6 out of 8 for survivability. On the utility side, Marksmanship has Ballistic Shield, a knockback, and Diversion which are all great for group play. However, it doesn't have any CC and no ability to heal itself or its teammates, so it gets only 2 out of 5 points for utility.

Marksmanship Sniper - Tier C (13 Points)

Hatred Assassin is the next class with a total of 13 points. Hatred has a high damage score of 7 out of 10, but a low survivability score of 3 out of 8. On the utility side, Hatred has a taunt and a heart stun, and you can talent the AoE knockback and root of Overload. However, its mouse taunt is also its best defensive cooldown, so it is not as versatile as some other classes. It also has no off-heal and no possibility to take Whirlwind. Hatred gets a total of 3 out of 5 points for utility, for a total of 13 points.

Annihilation Marauder/Watchman - Tier C (13 Points)

Annihilation Marauder/Watchman Sentinel is rated at 13 points as well. Annihilation has a score of 4 out of 10 for damage and 6 out of 8 for survivability. On the utility side, Annihilation has Predation which is one of the best utility skills in the game, giving your team 80% movement speed and a 10% passive defense chance. It also has group heals when its dots are active during Berserk. Annihilation gets a total of 3 out of 5 points for utility, for a total of 13 points.

Vengeance Juggernaut - Tier C (14 Points)

Vengeance Juggernaut is rated at the bottom of B Tier with a total of 14 points. Vengeance has Intercede which is great for mobility and utility, and it also has taunted and a hearthstone baseline. However, it has no heals and not much in terms of slows, so it gets a total of 3 out of 5 points for utility. Vengeance has a score of 7 out of 10 for damage and 4 out of 8 for survivability, for a total of 14 points.

Virulence Sniper - Tier C (14 Points)

Virulence Sniper is rated in the middle of the pack in most situations with a total of 14 points. Virulence has the same utility as Marksmanship Sniper, with the difference that it also gets the AoE slow from the puddle it leaves after rolling. Virulence gets a total of 3 points for utility, 6 out of 10 for damage, and 5 out of 8 for survivability, for a total of 14 points.

Deception - Tier B (15 Points)

Deception has been rated anywhere from s to eight, and for good reason. While it does have two hard stuns with small spike and electrocute, and can take knockback, it does not have any AoE whatsoever. In the current meta, this is incredibly important, and it is why I gave Deception a total of five points for damage and six points for survivability. It does, however, have a strong rotational slow in Voltaic Slash that can stack up to 70%, and low slash can be used to gap close. For these reasons, I gave Deception four out of five points for utility, for a total of 15 points.

Pirate PT  - Tier B (15 Points)

with Carbonize which can be reset on getting hit, as well as a pool which is great. Unfortunately, it lacks off-heals and roots, but I gave it four out of five points for utility, combining that with six points for damage and five for survivability, it is points-wise on par with Deception.

Lightning Sorcerer - Tier B (15 Points)

Lightning Sorcerer has great AoE potential and we gave it six out of ten points for damage. Survivability is good but not as good as Madness, and I gave it five out of eight points. For utility, we gave it four out of five points because Lightning has a passive rotational slow and a knockback with Thundering Blast and Chain Lighting, as well as a hard stun baseline. With a total of 15 points, Lightning is very solidly in B tier.

Carnage Marauders - Tier B (15 Points)

Carnage Marauders is a meta pick and We gave it six points for damage, seven for survivability, and two for utility. It has an AoE slow with Saber Throw and a short net effect which can keep Sorcerers from bubbling and Shadows from vanishing. With a total of 15 points, it is slightly above Lightning.

Rage Juggernaut - Tier B (16 Points)

Rage Juggernaut has 8 out of 10 points for damage, 5 out of 8 for survivability, and three out of five for utility. It has taunts, roots, force push, and Intercede which can be helpful when using your teammates. With a total of 16 power points, it is solidly in the top of B tier.

Engineering  - Tier A (18 Points)

Engineering is the best of the Sniper specs and I gave it an 8 out of 10 for damage. Survivability is not as poor as some people might think and I gave it five out of eight points. For utility, I gave it three out of five points. It has the 50 spammable AoE slow with Suppressive Tools, and Neural Trigger tactical gives it a two-second hard stun on a 15-second cooldown. With a total of 18 power points, it is in the middle of the A tier.

AP Powertech  - Tier A (18 Points)

AP Powertech has still a great burst and I gave it 8 out of 10 points for damage. Survivability can be quite poor as it lacks a combat reset, and I gave it five out of eight points. For utility, I gave it a perfect 5 out of 5 due to Neural Trigger which gives it a two-second hard stun on a 15-second cooldown. With a total of 18 power points, it is in the middle of the A tier.

Madness  - Tier s (20 Points)

Madness has solid damage and I gave it a total of 7 out of 10 possible points for damage. Survivability is very good and I gave it eight out of eight possible points, and when it comes to utility and peels I gave it a perfect 5 out of 5. With a total of 20 power points, it sits in the S tier.

Lethality  - Tier s (23 Points)

This spec is incredibly well-rounded, excelling in both survivability and damage. It has a solid 30-second heal and an optional flashbang, and its passive slow effect on the grenade is rotational, which is incredibly useful. When it comes to survivability, Lethality can reach 10,000 HP easily with Integrity, and its Instant Infusion relief strike increases the critical multiplier and critical chance by an additional 30%. As for damage, Lethality can still be quite strong despite not being the strongest single-target spec, and with an 8/10 in damage, it's definitely one of the top four damage specs. All things considered, Lethality is a well-rounded spec that gets a perfect 21 out of a possible 23 in tier list, making it one of the strongest specs in Star Wars: The Old Republic PvP 7.2.
