As the release of Patch 10.1.5 approaches, it's time to make sure your characters are prepared for the upcoming update. Whether you're a dedicated player or planning to return to the world of Dragonflight, this guide we will provide you with the necessary steps to get ahead of the curve. From maximizing leveling buffs to catching up with allied races and gearing your main for new challenges, we'll cover it all. Take advantage of the opportunity to be well-prepared and competitive when the patch hits. So let's dive in and make the most of the limited time we have before Patch 10.1.5 arrives in Dragonflight!
- Maximize Leveling Buffs
- Catch Up with Allied Races
- Finish Dragonflight Renown
- Get Ready for Augmentation Evoker
- Replace Your Onyx Annulet
- Prepare Alts for the New Megadungeon
- Start Gearing Your Main with Better Items
↖ Maximize Leveling Buffs
Take advantage of the leveling buffs available before Patch 10.1.5 arrives. Use the Winds of Sanctuary buff to increase your character's level gains by 50%. Additionally, participate in the Darkmoon Faire for a 10% bonus experience gain and use the Draught of the Ten Lands for an additional 10% experience boost. During the Midsummer Fire Festival, the bonfires provide an extra 10% experience from slain outdoor monsters. Consider questing in World Mode for safer leveling and faster gains.
For Alliance players, follow the questing route through Elwynn Forest, Redridge Mountains, Duskwood, Warlords of Draenor zones, Shadowmoon Valley, and Talador. Horde players can start in Silverpine Forest, Hillsbrad Foothills, Warlords of Draenor Intro, Frostfire Ridge, and Gorgrond. Take advantage of the Time Walking event dungeons once you reach level 60 to level up to 70 quickly.
↖ Catch Up with Allied Races
If you've been away from Dragonflight for a while, now is a great time to return, especially with the new expansion and catch-up systems. Patch 10.1.5 removes all restrictions on unlocking allied races. You only need a level 50 character to unlock them. Allied races offer unique race options with their own heritage armour sets and customization options. This is an excellent opportunity for both casual and competitive players to explore new playable races and dive back into PvE and PvP content.
↖ Finish Dragonflight Renown
Use the remaining time before the patch to catch up on Dragonflight factions' renown. The Winds of Sanctuary buff not only increases leveling speed but also boosts all reputation gains during this limited-time event. Complete any remaining renown quests for the original Dragonflight factions to unlock faction-specific cosmetic rewards. Combine the reputation gains with Forbidden Reach quests for additional reputation gains and bonus quests. While leveling, focus on gaining a reputation with the original factions.
↖ Get Ready for Augmentation Evoker
Prepare your evoker for the new augmentation specialization introduced in Patch 10.1.5. Augmentation is a ranged DPS spec that combines the power of different dragonflights. It has a buff-oriented playstyle focused on enhancing your allies' combat abilities. Level and gear up your character in advance. Early testing suggests that mastery-heavy gear will be strong for group gameplay. Augmentation evokers may prioritize mastery and haste items. Consider using trinkets like the Fragment from the Halls of Infusion for primary stat boosts.
↖ Replace Your Onyx Annulet
Patch 10.1.5 brings changes to the Onyx Annulet and primordial gems. Certain gem combinations currently contribute significantly to your overall damage output. However, the gems will see a reduction in power. Look for an alternative ring that provides good secondary stats for your class. You can either find a suitable ring or create one through the work order system using Shadow Flame Sparks.
↖ Prepare Alts for the New Megadungeon
The new mega-dungeon, Dawn of the Infinite, is coming in Patch 10.1.5. This eight-boss instance offers new encounters, mechanics, and valuable gear. Prepare your alts for this challenging content by acquiring sufficient knowledge about the boss fights and gearing them up. Characters should aim for at least item level 425 before attempting the dungeon. Look for veteran and champion gear that can be upgraded to a minimum of 424 item level using Drake Crests.
↖ Start Gearing Your Main with Better Items
If you have multiple geared characters, start preparing them for the gear improvements in Patch 10.1.5. The new Mythic Upgrade Track allows you to upgrade specific gear and items. Each item in Season 2 comes with its own upgrade track, from Veteran to Champion to Hero. All items can be upgraded to a maximum item level using crests and crest fragments. Look for items starting at item level 441 and above, which can be upgraded to 447 once the patch launches—farm higher-level Mythic+ dungeons to obtain gear starting at item level 441 and with a mythic track.
Conclusion:
By following these steps, you'll be well-prepared for the arrival of Patch 10.1.5 in Dragonflight, whether you're leveling alts, unlocking allied races, exploring the new specialization, or gearing up for challenging content. Enjoy the game and make the most of these final days before the update!
