Hey there, fellow Exiles! Today, we're diving into the Explosive Arrow Champion build in PoE 3.23. Although was removed 20% increased Skill Effect Duration and 20% chance to Ignite enemies in 3.23 league, it is now possible to Maximum 22 Explosive Arrows stuck in an Enemy. So trust our, this build is still a powerhouse, especially for newbies.

↖ Leveling

Leveling with this build is a bit quirky until you hit Level 28. Start with Spectral Throw and then switch to Explosive Arrow. Remember, your bow's attack speed is crucial. For extra oomph, swap in Faster Attacks and Lesser Multiple Projectiles for boss fights.

 

↖ PoB, Bandits & Pantheon

We're using the 3.23 version of Path of Building, with separate POBs for 3.22 (Link: https://pobb.in/Kvv_4JP81qF4) and 3.23. There aren't significant tree changes for our build, so it's pretty straightforward.

 

↖ Changes in PoE 3.23

The big change? Explosive Arrow now has +2 additional arrows instead of the ignite chance. This means more fuses, and more booms! We'll manage the ignite chance with flammability and some gear tweaks. So, don't worry, you'll still be setting the world on fire.

 

↖ Ascendancies and Skill Tree

In the ascendancy department, we're sticking to the basics. We've detailed when to take which points, so just hover over them in PoB for guidance.

 

↖ Common Mistakes

• No Pierce: If your arrow pierces, it won't explode. Avoid Pierce like the plague.
• Projectile Count: Stick to 1, 3, or 5 projectiles. Even numbers just don't cut it here.
• Elemental Equilibrium: Don't mess this up. Avoid flat fire damage to attacks on your gear.

 

↖ How to Get 6 Totems?

Ancestral Bond, Panopticon, and Watchtower anointment - that's your ticket to six-totem glory.

 

↖ End-Game Skill Gems

In the late game, we switch to an ignite focus. Use Lifetap once you have decent regen, and remember to adjust your flasks.

 

↖ Awakened Gem Options

Awakened gems bring a lot to the table. Awakened Burning Arrow is a massive upgrade, and don't forget to use catalysts for that extra punch.

 

↖ Gear Up

• Early Game: Focus on life, resist, and a fast bow.
• Leveling Uniques: Tabula Rasa, Rain of Splinters, or a cheap Dying Sun can be game-changers.
• Early Mapping: A simple short bow with good attack speed will serve you well.
• Late Mapping: Look for ignites spread on gloves and focus on life, resist, and damage.

 

↖ Flasks

A mix of granite, quartz, shade, quicksilver, and a life flask (bubbling or seething) will keep you alive and kicking.

 

↖ Why Not Elementalist?

Elementalist is glass-cannon. Champion offers a blend of damage and durability. Plus, with new tinctures, you can ignite with all damage types!

 

↖ Bow Options

Short or Grove bows are king due to easier coloring and lower dexterity requirements. Remember, attack speed trumps all. We’ve done the math so you don't have to. Just remember, attack speed is your best friend, and don't be afraid to tweak for more damage.
