↖ Wildwood Ascendancies

Their raw power shook things up with The Wildwood Ascendancies, but be realistic—don't expect them being nailed onto our current ascendancies any time soon than catching a mirror of Kalandra on your first cast; instead perhaps we shall see bits of these gigantic trees sprouting somewhere else such as Warlock's sanguine skills bleeding into core passive tree giving Blood Magic much-needed transfusion of vitality. Such abilities may come back as some shiny new skill gems while others might just fade away into mythology.

 

↖ Charms & Tinctures

Charms and tinctures came out swinging with their power level off the charts without their ascendancy anchors these little wonders could just float off into oblivion. Then each tincture can show that flash promising a standalone item that represents an intelligent commander's decision trade-off whether or not these have a place in the main game is another matter entirely like dominus' wardrobe choices.

 

↖ Spectre Corpses

The Oathbreaker left us corpse after corpse just waiting for us build-crafters to use them. Some are just too much fun and it would be a sin against creativity to let them die off like that. If they become rare boss drops or sneak into future leagues, these spectral sidekicks deserve a second act.

 

↖ Unique Items

Too many unique items spoil Wraeclast's broth – they can make any average build into an epicurean masterpiece. That which is dropped by the Wildwood mechanic is probably going to find a place in the core loot pool patiently waiting for its own moment in the sun when a forum-wrecking build comes about. And as for those treasures looted from King of the Mist, they’re ripe for ritual rebirth or maybe set deep in the atlas tree.

 

↖ Viridian Wildwood (Wisps)

The Viridian Wildwood mechanic was like hitting piñata on everyday basis in Wraeclast. But if it were added without changing anything, it would mess up this fragile balance right away; Nerf incoming faster than you can say it! Expect some heavy pruning if it does go across.

 

So, what will become part of Path of Exile's tapestry from Affliction? Will all of it be lost to time or will something stick with us from the core experience?
