What makes up the Seneschal? Well, it's a mechanical ally that supports you in battle depending on what type of build your character has. The way of obtaining the Seneschal isn't too hard, because you'll unlock this companion through the seasonal questline. Doing so will make sure that it becomes an integral part in your journey for Season 3.
From then on out, until the season ends or you stop playing, Seneschal will follow you around Sanctuary while adapting to your playstyle by selecting strategic stones.
↖ Guiding and Tuning Stones: Unleashing Their Power
What kind of stones are there? The possibilities are endless with 12 Guiding Stones and 27 Tuning Stones. All ranging in different rarity levels so that you can create a unique experience tailored specifically to your build and playstyle.
The more duplicates you collect of these stones, or if you choose to craft them or combining them they become stronger. Guiding Stones control the attacks performed by your Seneschal while Tuning Stones refine and amplify those said abilities.
Take stealth attacks as an example; If you have the right Guiding Stone equipped on your companion then massive damage could be dealt, emit lightning or fire beams, or even provide healing and adrenaline boosts to increase your character's damage output.
|Activates an anti-material field, shooting down enemy projectiles. Cannot affect projectiles from bosses or player characters.
|Quick ambush attack, can hit the same target multiple times.
|Sends a construct that explodes 3 times on the target, causing damage.
|Channels a fire beam, causing total damage over time.
|Whirls legs quickly, inflicting damage on all surrounding enemies.
|Attacks all enemies in a straight line, causing damage.
|Casts a lightning bolt, causing damage and jumping to additional targets.
|Creates a protective barrier around the player character.
|Channels a restoration beam, healing the player character over time.
|Slashes at enemies, causing damage.
|Imposes an electrical charge, causing damage over time and jumping to other enemies upon the target's death.
|Administers an adrenaline boost, causing the player character to inflict bonus damage temporarily.
As for the Tuning Stones themselves; they'll add bonuses to skill effects such as size or attack speed, reduce cooldowns, extend durations or slow down enemy movement speed when coming into contact with them.
|Increases the effect size of the supported skill.
|The supported skill receives an attack speed bonus.
|Damage caused by the supported skill immediately destroys enemy barrier effects. Also has a chance to make enemies vulnerable for 2 seconds.
|Reduces the cooldown of the supported skill.
|If the supporting skill causes damage, you receive a critical hit chance for the targets hit.
|The supported skill receives a critical hit damage bonus.
|When the supported skill is used, it grants damage reduction.
|Part of the damage caused by the supported skill is considered as cold damage over time, causing chilling.
|Part of the damage of the supported skill is considered as burn damage over time. Burning enemies suffer additional critical hit damage from the Seneschal Construct.
|Part of the damage caused by the supported skill is considered as lightning damage, with a chance to stun enemies.
|Part of the damage caused by the supported skill is considered as bleeding damage over time. Enemies suffer bonus bleeding damage from all sources while moving.
|Part of the damage caused by the supported skill is considered as poison damage over time. This poison damage has a chance each second to spread to another enemy.
|Part of the damage caused by the supported skill is considered as shadow damage over time. There's a chance for attacking enemies affected by it to have their attacks interrupted. Bosses are not interrupted.
|Increases the duration of supported skills.
|When the Seneschal Construct uses the supported skill, you receive steeling. Skills with lower attack speed and skills with cooldowns increase the amount of steeling granted.
|The player character receives an amount of primary resource when the supporting skill first causes damage.
|The supported skill causes the Seneschal Construct to teleport to the target if it's out of range. Can only occur every few seconds.
|The supported skill can hit additional enemies.
|Supported projectile skills shoot additional projectiles.
|The supported projectile skill pierces additional enemies.
|Damage and effects caused by the supporting skill on distant enemies pull them towards the Seneschal Construct. Can only occur occasionally per enemy.
|Registered Damage Support
|All damage caused by the supported skill is registered. The registered damage explodes as fire damage with effectiveness when the target dies.
|The supported projectile skill automatically seeks enemies for a while.
|Damage caused by the supported skill slows the enemy's movement speed for a limited duration. The closer the enemy to the Seneschal Construct, the greater the amount of slowing. Enemies can be slowed up to a maximum amount.
|Damage caused by the supporting skill taunts hit enemies for a limited duration. Can only occur occasionally per enemy. Does not apply to bosses.
Where can I find these stones? There aren't just a few places to look for them, but there are several ways in which you can obtain them. Playing through the Vaults, new dungeons introduced in Season 3, you'll be rewarded with a random Tuning Stone. These stones can also be acquired by finding Wirewoven Chests that wait at the end of dungeons.
The luck is unpredictable because if you're lucky enough you might find both types of stones as loot from Vaults. Finally, defeating constructs within the dungeons will yield Shattered Stone and this material can be crafted into stones at jewelcrafters.
