Diablo 4 Aspect of Engulfing Flames Guide for Sorceresses Build
Welcome to our in-depth guide on the Aspect of Engulfing Flames, a unique and somewhat unconventional legendary aspect in Diablo 4 that was designed specifically for the Sorceress class. This guide will explain what the aspect does, how it works, and if its worth using in various combat scenarios.
↖ What Does The Aspect of Engulfing Flames Do?
The Aspect of Engulfing Flames is a versatile tool that can be inserted into various equipment slots such as one-handed, two-handed, gloves, amulets, and rings. On an amulet for example its effect is increased from 30% to 45%, even more so on a two-handed weapon. This scaling property allows it to provide significant power boosts over other aspects.
The aspect simply increases your burning damage by 30% to enemies below 50% life. While this may not sound too impressive at first glance, its actually a substantial boost during longer battles like Summoning Duriel bosses or mobs with high HP pools.
↖ Strategic Applications
This legendary aspect deals good burning damage to enemies below 50% life. This makes it strong against weaker enemies or trash mobs as it allows you to easily dispatch them quickly with its stronger burn damage effect.
While it does do less work against bosses or mobs with higher health pools due to the conditional nature of its increase damage (when the enemy is under 50% life) it can still be really useful if paired with skills like Incinerate or Firewall which already have burn damage inherently built into them. Using these skills when the enemy falls below half health will give you that much more amplified damage.
↖ Comparative Analysis
Compared to some other aspects/items you can get in the game like Conceited Aspect or Tal Rasha's Iridescent Loop. It might seem less appealing due to its conditional activation and lower multiplier but where this aspect really shines is when you're specifically farming for items or facing mobs with lower health.
An interesting thing about the Engulfing Flames aspect is that it scales with equipment. It can reach a 60% multiplier on a two handed weapon and even 200% under certain conditions. Making it really good for farming and clearing lesser mobs quickly. But you really have to weigh its advantages against boss fights because for most of the fight, especially against bosses with extensive health pools, its going to be dormant.
↖ Conclusion
Overall the Aspect Of Engulfing Flames is a great tool for Sorceresses in Diablo 4 against lesser enemies and situations where quick clearing is needed. Although not always the go-to choice for boss fights, it's unique properties as well as scalability make it a worthwhile aspect if you want to optimize your Sorceresses build.
