Free-to-play games are often too badly accepted by mobile players. Therefore, it is important to remember the titles and to celebrate them to achieve the right results. This year, there were some major publications that had difficulty implementing the F2P monetarization successfully, just like some indies to be honest. Lately, however, there was a number of hits that convinced the fans and introduced a decent sum of money. Imagine that.
In view of the fact that free-to-play continues to dominate the mobile market, it will be interesting to see if subscription services such as Apple Arcade, Google Play Pass and GameClub can change this balance at all. Only the time can reveal it.
In the meantime, let us enjoy some outstanding free spins and celebrate, starting with the following five.
Dungeon faster
This is so damn good that our Dave laughed out a piece in which he deployed why he should win this year's MGAG. It is a nice mix of elements of strategy games, roguelikes and card fighters. It is also one of the best free games of the year, funny enough.
You will explore a number of dungeons and reveal them to any angle and each corner individually. The more you explore, the greater your chances of finding new equipment and weapons. But with the reward is a considerable risk of stumble instead over an enemy.
It is perfect for mobile devices, with simple control and focus on mouth-sized playing sessions. There is also a good feeling for progress, if you further expand your deck and earn advanced prey.
As Dave detects in his feature, it is also a rare example of a properly performed free monetization with IAPs at reasonable prices and offline games. It is currently only available for Android, although an iOS version is in preparation. And honestly, I would like to start again from scratch when it arrives.
Call of Duty Mobile (2019)
Developer: Tencent Publisher: Activision Blizzard Available to: iOS + Android Genre: Sagittarius Learn more about Call of Duty Mobile (2019)
Call of Duty: Mobile is an indisputably sophisticated and content-rich ego shooter. At the technical level, it is probably the best FPS we currently have on mobile devices, with outstanding graphics and great touchscreen controls that rarely stand in the way of action.
Basically, it's the best parts of CSB, which are summarized in a single pack. With a lot of cards, weapons and killstreaks loved by the fans, it will probably also remember why they even fell in love with the series. And to round off the whole, the freely playable elements are better than they might expect.
Tyrann of the emptiness
Available to: iOS + Android Learn more about Void Tyrant
Void Tyrant combines the basics of blackjack with an intelligent, easy-to-learn, spared mechanics. It starts quite easily, but you will soon discover hidden depth layers for its systems.
There are dozens of hours full of fun here, with something like 500 cards to play and three different classes to try. Simply expressed, from all the games I have recommended friends this year, Void Tyrant convinced most of them.
Black Desert Mobile
Available to: iOS + Android Genre: RPG Learn more about Black Desert Mobile
The Black Desert Mobile by Pearl Abyss is one of the best MMOS that you find on mobile devices. The player-friendly design, the rapid fight and the extensive world are the main attractions, but it is the clever mix of accessible gameplay and long-term depth, which keeps you up to date.
It also offers the best and most detailed character manufacturers I saw in a game. If you are interested in such a thing, you can easily lose hours to tinker to the settings and make your hero unique for you.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades
Publisher: Bethesda Game Studios available to: iOS + Android Genre: Action, RPG Learn More about The Elder Scrolls: Blades
He did not have the best start in life and was badly absorbed by fans and critics. The almost bad monetization and the questionable progress led to the fact that many of the ship had work at an early stage, but Bethesda has gradually started to recover people, including the Dave mentioned above.
Gone are the terrible timers in the chest, and slow progress was dramatically improved thanks to a recent update. Sure, it's still not the Skyrim for mobile phones experience, on which some players had hoped, but it is now a quality dungeon crawler with a shiny future in front of him.
