We are talking about Andrei Kirsanov, whom the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced to 2 years and 6 months restriction of freedom for creating bots and cheat programs for multiplayer action by World of Tanks and World of Warships.

According to the case, from February 2013 to July 2020, Kirsanov wrote programs with which he modified the online games Dedicated to the armored vehicles of the early XX century and In the genre of the simulator of sea battles. Thus, owners of this received an advantage over other players. As a result, a criminal case was instituted under the article for the creation, distribution or use of computer programs in advance for unauthorized modification of computer information made of selfish interest (273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

During the case, the accused pleaded guilty. The accusation required him five years in prison.
