Which are the Rarest Old School Runescape Items?

Old School Runescape is a game that has been around for many years and as such, there are a plethora of rare and prestigious items that can be obtained. From coveted skill capes to exclusive pets and even unique in-game tools, the rarest items in OSRS are a coveted status symbol among veteran players.

Which are the Rarest Old School Runescape Items?

Infernal Cape

One of the rarest items that can be acquired in Old School Runescape is the Infernal Cape. This cape requires a high-level account, a lot of dedication, and skill to acquire. As of 2020, nearly 50,000 people have killed Zulrah to acquire this cape, however, the cape is still considered rare due to the fact that many players purchase the cape instead of completing the task themselves.

Music Cape

Another rare completionist cape is the Music Cape. As of 2020, only 11,500 people have acquired it, and it is thought that there are only around 20,000 Music Capes in the game in total.

Slayer Cape

The Slayer Cape also has two variants, untrimmed and trimmed. To acquire an untrimmed Slayer Cape, a player must achieve 99 Slayer without having any other 99 skills. As of 2017, only 220 players had achieved this, and it is believed that there are around 2,000 untrimmed Slayer Capes in the game today.

Victor's Cape

The Victor's Cape is awarded to players who have won 1,000 games of Last Man Standing. As the cape requires a lot of skill and PVP, it is estimated that less than 200 players have achieved it.

Jagex Mod Tools

The Jagex Mod Tools, which include the Rotten Potato, Rotten Egg, Rotten Cabbage, and Rotten Carrot, is only available to Runescape developers, and it is believed that there are less than 50 sets of these items in the game.

Holiday Tool

The Holiday Tool is another rare item given out to select members of the community. It was used to spawn free starter packs for noobs and spawn NPCs and monsters in Gielinor. It is believed that there are less than 30 of these items in the game.

Ishlethins Shroud

The Ishlethins Shroud is the rarest item in the game that is currently obtainable. The Tier 3 version is awarded for completing 1,000 Tombs of the Masquerades, and it is estimated that there are less than 10 of these in the game. The Tier 4 and 5 versions of the shroud have zero population as nobody has completed 1,500 or 2,000 Tombs of the Masquerades.

Zulrah Slayer Helm

The rarest item that can be obtained by a Hardcore Ironman is the Zulrah Slayer Helm. As of the recording of this video, it is believed that only one Hardcore Ironman has achieved this, although it is thought that there are less than 5 players who have done this. Acquiring this item is incredibly impressive, as it requires a lot of skill and is incredibly dangerous.

Rarest Pet

The rarest pets in the game are the Penance Queen Pet and the Inferno Pet. As of 2021, there are 1,600 copies of the Penance Queen Pet and 1,500 copies of the Inferno Pet in the game. These two pets require a lot of skill and dedication to acquire.

Rarest Emotes

One of the rarest emotes in the game requires the completion of 600 beginner clue scrolls. As of 2020, only 2,400 people had unlocked the explorer emote, and this is likely due to the low monetary rewards of beginner clue scrolls.

Overall

these are some of the rarest items in Old School Runescape. Acquiring them is no easy task, and they are seen as a sign of dedication and skill among veteran players.
