Diablo 4 Dungeon Guide: Best Farming Strategies After the Patch 1.0.2 Hotfix

The latest Patch 1.0.2 hotfix in Diablo 4 has brought significant adjustments to the game, impacting the efficiency of our beloved loot caves. Specifically, a significant nerf has been applied to the slay all enemies" dungeon objective, previously the source of our most effective loot caves. While these changes have made farming less efficient, some dungeons still shine in specific aspects. This guide explores the best dungeons for Diablo 4 Gold, experience, legendary and unique drops, and a middle-ground option. So grab your gear, and let's dive in!

Diablo 4 Dungeon Guide: Best Farming Strategies After the Patch 1.0.2 Hotfix

Best Experience Farm: Ruins of Eridu

Surprisingly, despite the recent nerf, the Ruins of Eridu in the Howlzeram region remains the best dungeon for experience farming. The strategy for this dungeon remains unchanged. As you enter, you'll notice the dense mob density, allowing you to move from enemy to enemy quickly. Follow the circular path and clear out all enemies until you reach the other end. Then, use the emote wheel to exit the dungeon, log back in, and the dungeon will be reset. On average, players have cleared this dungeon in around 50 seconds, gaining approximately 200K experience per run. This translates to roughly 14.4 million experiences per hour. While this is about 64% as effective as before, it is still the best option for experience and Gold in the current patch.

Best Legendary and Unique Drops: Iron Hold

For those solely focused on obtaining as many legendaries as possible in the shortest amount of time, Iron Hold reclaims its position as the top dungeon. Despite its previous nerf, Iron Hold has again risen to the throne due to its high number of elites per time ratio. The strategy for running this dungeon involves blitzing through the first floor, sticking to the right side until you find the skull-marked enemy on your minimap. Upon killing this enemy, they will drop a key. Use the key to open the locked door, which is located back towards the start of the dungeon on the left side. Proceed through the dungeon, eliminating the elite groups on both sides of the floor. Once again, use the emote wheel to exit the dungeon, log back in, and repeat the process. Players have reported an average of two legendaries per run, each taking approximately two and a half minutes. This results in an average of about 48 legendaries per hour. Additionally, you can expect around 7.2 million experiences per hour. While the experience rate is not as high as Ruins of Eridu, the legendary drop rate compensates for it.

Best Middle-Ground Dungeon: Forsaken Quarry

If you're looking for a dungeon with a good balance of experience and legendary drops, look no further than the Forsaken Quarry. This dungeon on the northern side of the Fractured Peaks provides solid results in both aspects. Similar to Ruins of Eridu's previous strategy, the Forsaken Quarry's first floor is a slay all enemies objective. Follow the straightforward path, eliminating all enemies in your way. Although it's not a circular path like the Ruins of Eridu, the dead ends are short, allowing you to progress quickly. After clearing all enemies on this floor, use the emote wheel to exit the dungeon, log back in, and reset the dungeon. On average, players have completed a run in about 65 seconds, earning approximately 200,000 experience per run. This translates to just over 11 million experiences per hour. In terms of legendary drops, players have reported an average of one legendary every two runs, resulting in around 30 legendaries per hour. The Forsaken Quarry offers an outstanding balance between Gold, experience and legendary drops.

In conclusion, the recent hotfix has impacted the efficiency of loot cave dungeons in Diablo 4. However, there are still viable farming options available. To optimize your farming, choose the dungeon that aligns with your goals. The ruins of Eridu remain the best option for experience farming, offering around 14.4 million experiences per hour. Iron Hold reclaims its position as the top dungeon for Gold, legendary and unique drops, averaging about 48 legendaries per hour. Finally, the Forsaken Quarry provides a balanced approach, offering decent experience and legendary drop rates. Remember that the situation is ever-evolving, and future patches may bring further changes.
