Last Epoch devs have revealed their plans to introduce trading into the game in a way that should make everyone happy. When the game was first announced, open trading was part of the plan, but more recently, they felt it would compromise the game experience too much. Now they have introduced a trading system similar to Diablo 3, where you can only trade items with people you are playing with. After some backlash, the devs listened to the community and changed their stance.
For those of you looking to get the most out of your gaming experience, the new trade system in Last Epoch is a must-see. This innovative system gamifies trading, allowing players to join one of two factions – The Merchants Guild and The Circle of Fortune. These two factions offer different trade experiences, with the former offering a more open experience and the latter providing a more solo-driven experience.
The Merchants Guild offers players the ability to buy and sell items, as well as access to the bazaar. As you gain faction favor within the Guild, you will unlock better access and higher ranks. However, you should be aware that changing factions will reset your rank, so it's best to stick with a faction. Additionally, if an item drops while you are in one faction, you will only be able to equip that item while you are in that faction.
Meanwhile, the Circle of Fortune faction gives players access to better drops, but not much else. To try out the different experiences, players can switch factions at will, though be warned that doing so will reset your ranks.
For those who don't want to trade, the game also offers item gifting. If an item drops in a multiplayer game, you can freely give that item to other players in your game. In addition, there is the new Resonance item, which drops when you are playing with someone for a long time and can be applied to an item to gift to that player.
Last Epoch also has a Multiplayer Open Beta ongoing and free for anyone to participate. To join, players can simply find the game on Steam, click Request Access for the Beta, and gain instant access.
Overall, Last Epoch's new trade system is a welcome addition to the game, allowing traders and non-traders to get the most out of their gaming experience.
